I Must Confess: I am going through a stage where I am bored with cooking dinner.
It’s not surprising really – after all, I’ve been the chief cook and bottlewasher in our home for over 23 years.
And I’m used to the odd period of being over it – usually in summer when it’s too hot to cook, and after gorging ourselves silly at Christmas.
But it’s hit a bit early this year.
It probably doesn’t help that Mr 19 mostly works evenings, and Miss Almost 17 is now also working two evenings a week and out at least another two.
I mostly still cook for them though, and just put it in the fridge for later on. But still, it’s hard to get motivated.
Both are starting to get a bit fussy in what they like too. Mr 19 is of the “Feed the man meat” mentality. To him, vegetables do not = food.
Miss Almost 17 dislikes two of my favourite dishes – stroganoff and chettinaw chicken, so I feel guilty whenever I make them, knowing she won’t eat them.
What do you do when you start to get bored with cooking? Have you got any great new recipes to share?!
